CareFusion 303 prevails in patent infringement action over medical device infusion systems

Jones Day won a summary judgment of patent invalidity for CareFusion 303, Inc., a global medical technology company, in the District of Maine. Plaintiffs accused CareFusion's infusion systems of infringing a patent for a multichannel fluid delivery system. At claim construction, the district court construed two means-plus-function claim terms as indefinite, resulting in summary judgment of invalidity on all asserted claims.
