ABB receives antitrust clearance for $4.2 billion acquisition of Baldor Electric

Jones Day obtained antitrust clearance in the U.S. after a Second Request investigation by the Department of Justice on behalf of ABB Ltd. in connection with its $4.2 billion acquisition of Baldor Electric Company. The deal established ABB as a leader in the multibillion dollar North American industrial motors business and a global leader for movement and control in industrial applications (industrial motion). The Department of Justice closed its investigation of the transaction without taking any action.
