Marques Hillman Richeson is a results-oriented litigator who advocates vigorously for clients. He handles significant, high-stakes litigation, representing clients in federal and state courts throughout the country at the trial and appellate levels. He has served as national or coordinating counsel for Fortune 500 and global companies, providing strategic advice on matters related to product liability, complex commercial litigation, class actions, and multidistrict litigation.
Marques' product liability experience encompasses mass tort, personal injury, and consumer fraud actions involving a broad range of products and industries, including pharmaceuticals, health care, medical devices, chemicals, manufacturing, and automotive. In recent years, he has served on multiple trial teams in mass tort cases.
Marques serves as a member of the Product Liability Advisory Council (PLAC), advocating for product manufacturers, suppliers, and retailers across the globe. He also serves on the Southern District of Ohio Local Rules Committee and on the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center Commission.
Marques is very active in pro bono efforts and has represented individuals in clemency, death penalty, and innocence cases. He also has advocated for business and trade associations and LGBTQ rights organizations, filing amici curiae briefs on their behalf in the U.S. Supreme Court and federal appellate courts.
Marques is a board member of the Cleveland Ballet, LAND Studio, HELP Foundation, and Euclid Schools Foundation. He is also a Fellow of the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity (LCLD) and has written and spoken extensively on topics related to social justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession.
