Jenny Plagman is a trial lawyer who represents and advises employers in a diverse range of labor and employment matters. Her practice focuses on individual and complex disputes arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Defend Trade Secrets Act, and the Biometric Information Privacy Act.
In addition to representing employers in complex litigation, Jenny routinely handles high-stakes investigations involving alleged violations of federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company policies. She also has investigated allegations of financial, securities, and immigration fraud, including potential violations of the False Claims Act. Clients trust Jenny with their most sensitive and complex internal matters. A portion of Jenny's practice also focuses on advising corporate clients on a variety of employment matters, including compensation practices, worker classification, state law compliance, employment agreements, workplace sensitivity, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and pay equity.
Jenny is a member of the Black Women Lawyers' Association and the National Employment Law Council and serves on the boards of the Center for Conflict Resolution and the Chicago Appleseed Center for Fair Courts. Within Jones Day, Jenny co-leads the Black Lawyers Affinity Group, serves on the Firmwide Inclusion and Advancement Committee, and is the Firm's 2025 Leadership Council for Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow.
