Jackie Pasek is a trial attorney with experience in more than 15 jury trials — including serving as second-chair counsel — in federal and state courts throughout the country. Her practice focuses on defending companies in products liability litigation, with additional experience in commercial class actions, mass tort litigation, multidistrict litigation (MDL), and insurance recovery.
At trial, Jackie has presented closing arguments and conducted direct and cross-examinations of fact and expert witnesses (including historians, economists, pulmonologists, epidemiologists, and treating physicians). She has handled voir dire cause challenges, jury instructions, and argued significant motions (including motions for summary judgment, directed verdict, and new trials). Jackie has been involved in Jones Day's defense of smoking and health lawsuits brought against R.J. Reynolds around the country. In the course of that representation, she has managed the workup of dozens of cases in active discovery.
Jackie's litigation experience also includes being active in the Firm's pro bono practice where she regularly represents clients through The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland.
