Garrett Gibson represents a variety of clients, including some of the world's largest companies, in complex construction and business disputes across the country. He has tried multiple jury trials, bench trials, and arbitrations to final judgment and has handled numerous appeals in state and federal courts, including two successful arguments before the Supreme Court of Texas, both resulting in unanimous reversals of the lower court decisions.

Garrett has built a reputation for distilling complex issues into concepts that judges, juries, and arbitration panels can easily understand. He also works hard to resolve cases early and efficiently.

He has significant experience representing owners and contractors on large-scale construction disputes across a range of sectors, including renewable energy projects, pipelines, power plants, semiconductor projects, gas processing facilities, battery energy storage systems, petrochemical projects, and high-end residential projects. He has handled complex claims related to changes, delays and liquidated damages, project cost accounting, design and construction defects, warranty claims, and mechanic's liens.

He often advises on project execution challenges, including management of underperforming contractors, contractor defaults and terminations, and surety bond administration. In addition, Garrett regularly advises clients on negotiating high-value EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) agreements and frequently litigates claims arising under those agreements.

A considerable part of Garrett's experience also includes high-stakes shareholder and joint venture disputes, breach of contract claims, trade secret claims, noncompete disputes, and fraud claims.

Garrett is an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center, teaching appellate advocacy.
