Sophie Dilda joined our New Lawyers Group (NLG) in 2021. The NLG provides our newest lawyers with the opportunity to gain exposure to different practice areas and lawyering styles before making a commitment to a specific practice. Individuals in the NLG may focus on a particular area of practice, or compare practices, during their first year with Jones Day.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Sophie worked as a legal assistant at a leading boutique disputes and commercial litigation law firm for three years while earning her law degree.
Sophie also served as associate to the now retired Honourable Justice James Douglas of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2019 and to the Honourable Justice Ann Lyons, Senior Judge Administrator of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2020. During this time, Sophie gained experience in a broad variety of matters and developed an in-depth understanding of advocacy as well as practice and procedure in Queensland.
Sophie coauthored a guide to civil litigation in the District Court of Queensland, which was published by LexisNexis in 2021.
