Shane Coughlin focuses his practice on complex civil litigation and commercial disputes. He represents clients in different sectors across the nation in high-stakes cases in federal and state courts. Shane has experiences across all stages of litigation from drafting demand letters to drafting appellate briefs.
Shane also has an active pro bono practice in First Amendment litigation.
Before joining Jones Day in 2025 Shane served as a law clerk to Judge Thomas M. Hardiman on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and to Judge Lance E. Walker on the United States District Court for the District of Maine.
