Jones Day advised an inpatient rehabilitation facility ("IRF") in its successful resolution of a potential overpayment arising from IRF clinical documentation. Having analyzed complicated regulatory and sub-regulatory guidance addressing conditions of payment for IRF services, Jones Day worked together with the IRF to identify clinical documentation that supported IRF admission and complied with Medicare billing requirements. Ultimately, the IRF submitted its findings and overpayment calculation, which were accepted outright by the contractor.
