Beth Hopkins represents and advises employers in connection with complex labor and employment litigation and counseling matters. Beth has experience defending against class and individual actions involving claims arising under Title VII, Section 1981, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), as well as state and local laws. In addition to her litigation practice, Beth maintains an active counseling practice, advising clients on employment policies and legal compliance. She also has substantial investigation experience, including both sensitive internal investigations and investigations brought by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Beth helps navigate all phases of litigation, including researching, drafting pleadings and motions, fact development and investigation, discovery management, and preparing for depositions. Beth also served on a trial team that secured a complete defense verdict for Jones Day's client following a six-day jury trial in a whistleblower case alleging wrongful termination for reporting alleged regulatory violations.
Prior to starting with Jones Day, Beth completed an in-house legal fellowship at Wabtec Corporation, a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added service to the transportation industry. Beth also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing survivors of domestic violence in appellate proceedings.
