Brian Chou's practice focuses on dispute resolution and corporate advice, with experience in product liability, trade secrets, breach of trust, non-arm's length transaction, and arbitration.

Brian recently represented a multinational company in a product liability arbitration proceeding and helped secure a favorable award, with damages awarded amounting to less than 1% of the claim. He also represented a global semiconductor equipment manufacturer in a civil litigation involving trade secrets and provided strategic advice and litigation support to a U.S.-listed company in a product liability tort dispute.

Brian also assists clients in criminal investigations and proceedings. His recent experience includes advising the chairman of a Taiwan-listed manufacturing company in a criminal investigation concerning trade secrets and assisting the chairman of another listed company in defending against criminal charges related to breach of trust and irregular transactions.

In addition to civil and criminal disputes, Brian has advised a domestic renewable energy company in an administrative appeal concerning permitting issues. In the area of corporate compliance and regulatory advisory, he has provided guidance to a global software company on Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act and assisted a multinational group in reviewing contracts and assessing legal risks related to its bidding strategy in Taiwan.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Brian was elected to a prestigious academic honor society in Taiwan and received an award for outstanding master's thesis from a nationally recognized legal society for his research in civil law.
