Célia Benmesbah's practice centers on national and international patent and trade secret litigation before French courts and the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
Célia has in-depth experience in litigation and advisory work relating to patents and trade secrets at the national and international levels. She has worked on litigation cases in the pharmaceutical (generic drugs), cosmetics, and mechanical sectors, as well as on matters involving unfair competition and misappropriation of know-how. She also has participated in several proceedings before the UPC.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2025, Célia practiced at a Paris-based law firm that focuses on pharmaceutical litigation, where she represented several generic drug manufacturers and handled complex cases involving know-how, unfair competition, and mechanical patents. She also worked at a start-up that focuses on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and has advised various start-ups on the protection of their intellectual property.
Before obtaining her professional lawyer certification (CAPA), she completed internships at French, European, and international law firms, where she developed solid practical experience in managing litigation and advisory matters in patent law, as well as in trademark and copyright law.
Célia is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).
