Daniel Bleiberg advises electric utilities, natural gas companies, renewable generators, oil pipelines, and other energy industry participants before the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He has experience in a variety of FERC matters including complex enforcement investigations, administrative litigation involving interstate tariffs, facility interconnection issues, and regional energy market rules and transmission planning.

Daniel also has experience assisting clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions such as the purchase and sale of natural gas, electric generation, and electric transmission assets. Among other matters Daniel recently assisted a major U.S. electric utility obtain FERC approval for the acquisition of a natural gas-fired power plant and represented another in securing a rate incentive for the construction of transmission facilities.

Daniel also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing individuals seeking asylum or other forms of immigration relief. Daniel works extensively with Jones Day's Laredo Project, which provides legal representation to individuals with claims for immigration relief who have been detained in an immigrant detention center in Laredo, Texas, assisting in administering Jones Day's on the ground operations in Laredo, and consulting with Jones Day lawyers representing these detainees.
