Jarrod D. Murphy

Jarrod Murphy has extensive experience in advising private equity funds, public and private companies, and other major investors in connection with complex mergers and acquisitions and a wide variety of other high-profile corporate matters.

Over the course of his career, he has advised on numerous significant sponsor-led transactions across a range of traditional and emerging infrastructure sectors, including utilities, renewable and other energy assets, data centers, transportation and logistics, circular economy, telecommunications, and social infrastructure. In addition to his significant infrastructure and energy experience, Jarrod's broad corporate practice spans a number of other industries (including technology, media, financial services, life sciences, manufacturing, consumer, and retail) involving domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, take-privates, joint ventures, spin-offs, corporate restructurings, majority and minority investments, co-investments, and other major corporate transactions.

Highlights of Jarrod's extensive experience prior to joining Jones Day include representing: CVC DIF on the acquisition of two significant U.S. portfolios of water and wastewater utilities; the majority investors in a leading solar project developer on its sale to KKR and EIG for more than $1 billion; Ullico Infrastructure Fund on a number of transactions, including the acquisition of Triton Utilities and Michigan-American Water Company; a telecommunications company on a number of multibillion M&A and investment transactions; the founders of Digital Edge on the establishment of a diversified Asia Pacific data center investment platform, including an investment of more than $1 billion by Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners; and Macquarie Asset Management and its affiliates on several significant transactions.
