Lara Ilic has experience advising clients in the energy transition, renewable energy, and major infrastructure sectors.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2025, Lara's recent significant experience included advising: Osaka Gas on its joint venture with ACE Power to develop a portfolio of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects; Atmos Renewables on its joint venture with Nomad Energy to develop a 1GW portfolio of wind, solar, and BESS projects; a leading sustainable energy infrastructure investor on its acquisition and development of 10 BESS projects, with an acquisition pipeline of an additional 23 BESS projects; a major renewable energy developer on its joint venture to develop 800MW of BESS projects; and a global corporate group on capital raises of collectively A$711 million.
Lara was also a member of the team that advised WIRCON on the A$950 million sale of its renewable energy business in Australia to Gentari, a subsidiary of PETRONAS; Maoneng Australia on its joint venture with Gaw Capital Partners to develop a 1.9GW portfolio of solar and BESS projects; a global renewable energy supplier on its A$156 million acquisition of a portfolio of solar projects; BayWa r.e. on the sale of a solar farm in Victoria, Australia to Atmos Renewables, owned by Igneo Infrastructure Partners; and a SGX-listed company on its acquisition of a 111MW utility-scale solar project.
Lara also assisted with the US$16 billion sale of AirTrunk by Macquarie Asset Management and PSP Investments to a consortium led by Blackstone, which was the largest global data center deal in 2024.
