Amanda Chavez represents clients in complex civil litigation in state and federal courts. She has experience in all phases of litigation, including factual investigation, large-scale document reviews, discovery and motion practice, and preparing deposition materials. Her experience spans a range of practice areas, including breach of contract, claims for trade secret misappropriation, and employment.
Amanda also maintains an active pro bono practice, including securing a 100% service-connected disability rating for a local Marine Corps veteran. Additionally, she represents refugees seeking asylum through Jones Day's Border Project and assists individuals facing domestic violence with applications for temporary restraining orders. She is also an active member of the LGBTQ+ affinity group at Jones Day.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Amanda acquired substantial legal research and writing experience during a federal externship with Judge Karen Crawford in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
