Thomas Wilson focuses his practice on high-stakes litigation with an emphasis on critical motions and appeals. He has briefed, argued, and won cases in federal and state courts and has argued seven cases in the U.S. Courts of Appeals. He has also drafted winning briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court, several of which have resulted in reversals of the lower courts' decisions.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2023, Thomas served as Deputy Solicitor General of Alabama. In that capacity, he represented Alabama in affirmative and defensive litigation before courts at every level of the federal judiciary. And before his time in public service, Thomas worked at another international law firm where he focused on complex commercial litigation and corporate restructuring.
Immediately after graduating from law school, Thomas served as a law clerk to Judge Kevin C. Newsom of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
