Dr. Jörg Weber advises private credit and special situations investors, banks, private equity sponsors, and companies on complex debt financings and financial restructurings, particularly where financing and restructuring issues converge. His practice spans the debt life cycle, including leveraged and acquisition finance, unitranche and direct lending, public-to-private financings, refinancings and recapitalizations, amend-and-extend transactions, rescue and other special situations financings, liability management exercises, and German financial restructurings, including under StaRUG (German Corporate Stabilisation and Restructuring Act). He regularly acts on cross-border matters involving complex capital structures and intercreditor issues.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2026, Jörg advised on numerous multibillion dollar financings and restructurings. His experience includes advising the steering committee of the financiers of a German payment processor and financial services provider in its restructuring; an Austrian packaging company in its post-M&A restructuring; a shareholder group in the refinancing of a global supplier to the automotive, energy, and machinery sectors; a consortium of banks in the public takeover of a global leader in innovative light and sensor solutions; and parties to major leveraged buyouts and acquisition financings.
