Robert Silman represents corporate and individual clients in a variety of complex civil litigation matters and counsels companies facing internal investigations.
Robert's experience includes representing clients in a wide range of civil lawsuits, including federal and state court proceedings involving contractual disputes, tort claims, piercing the corporate veil, products liability, negligence, fraud, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA), and Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). Robert's diverse experience has included fact development and investigation, discovery management, and briefing and motions practice.
In addition, Robert regularly consults on matters involving peace officer misconduct and reform, including work on behalf of the Chicago Police Board.
Robert maintains an active pro bono practice, including representing criminal defendants through the Firm's participation in the Criminal Justice Act federal defender program and representing unaccompanied minors seeking asylum, withholding of removal, and relief under the Convention Against Torture.
