Matt Silveira has been litigating for nearly 20 years. A member of Jones Day's Issues & Appeals Practice, he spends as much time leading motion practice and legal strategy in complex trial court litigation as he does handling appeals and writs.

Matt's experience crosses industries and practice areas. He has represented clients in the technology, life sciences, health care, hospitality, construction, retail, and financial services industries in matters involving antitrust, patents, trade secrets, copyright, employment, contracts, real property, administrative law, and false claims. In addition to having significant experience in California courts, Matt has argued appeals and dispositive motions in state and federal courts across the nation, including the Ninth Circuit, Federal Circuit, and D.C. Circuit.

Matt also maintains a varied pro bono practice, including representing civil rights plaintiffs in the federal courts and immigration clients in proceedings before the Ninth Circuit and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
