Maik Oliver Sauerbier advises clients on all key aspects of collective and individual employment law. A particular focus of his practice is the representation of companies in employment disputes, both in and out of court, including unfair dismissal proceedings, restructurings, and corporate transactions.
His advisory work includes, among other areas, the drafting and negotiation of employment contracts and separation agreements, advising on business transfers and works council matters, as well as the implementation of workforce adjustment measures. Maik also maintains an active pro bono practice.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Maik gained practical experience, with a focus on litigation, at several international law firms, with placements in Zurich, Hamburg, and Munich. In addition, he served as a civil law lecturer at a leading bar exam preparation course.
