Kevin Schunk advises technology companies and private equity funds on M&A, carve-outs, equity investments, leveraged buyouts, and other significant strategic transactions, with particular depth across the artificial intelligence (AI), software, and gaming sectors.
Kevin brings a pragmatic, business-minded approach to facilitating deals. He works closely with clients to understand their businesses, develop practical strategies to achieve their objectives, and execute transactions efficiently. In addition to his commercial work, Kevin is an active contributor to Jones Day's mentoring and recruiting programs.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2026, Kevin advised: Cognition in its acquisition of Windsurf; dbt Labs in its merger with Fivetran; Meta in its acquisition of Rivos; AMD in its acquisitions of Silo AI and ZT Systems and subsequent carve-out sale of ZT Systems manufacturing; Haveli Investments in its acquisition of Budge Studios; New Relic in its sale to affiliates of Francisco Partners and TPG; Okta in its acquisition of Spera Cybersecurity; Silver Lake in its acquisition of ProService; Tripledot in its acquisition of AppLovin's games portfolio; Plaid in its acquisition of Cognito; Justworks in its acquisition of Via Global Ventures; Doma in its sale to Title Resources Group; and The Trade Desk in its acquisition of Sincera.
