Joseph Shields represents clients in complex civil cases in federal and state courts. His experience includes matters involving commercial disputes, product liability, consumer class actions, securities fraud and shareholder derivative actions, whistleblower claims, and internal and government investigations. His work spans multiple stages of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motions practice, and appeals.
Joseph maintains an active pro bono practice. He has worked on multiple trial teams for clients seeking asylum through the Firm's Border Project. He has also assisted individuals in sealing their criminal records through the Georgia Justice Project and has represented tenants in disputes with their landlords through the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.
