India Rand focuses her practice on commercial litigation, arbitration, and internal investigations. India routinely advises global corporations and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) on substantial, high-stakes matters relating to fraud, asset tracing, and contractual disputes.
India is frequently engaged in multijurisdictional disputes and the collateral issues arising in this context. Her recent experience includes defending claims involving novel issues of foreign law across multiple jurisdictions for unlawful means conspiracy and breach of contract; representing a listed company in a significant fraud involving approximately 30 jurisdictions and that involved obtaining freezing orders in courts throughout Asia and Europe; acting for an offshore bank in a £415 million claim relating to allegations of carousel fraud; advising a listed chemicals company in relation to the theft of business critical information; and acting for the liquidator of the collapsed retail giant, Comet, in a claim against the company's former shareholders.
India's investigations experience includes representing a listed pharmaceutical company following whistleblower reports implicating the Bribery Act 2010 and the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002; conducting an extensive multijurisdictional investigation on behalf of a listed company in relation to product liability issues that required self-reporting to regulators across Europe; and conducting an investigation into allegations of interference by a senior executive of a listed company into key contractual relationships.
India also acts for clients in the financial sector, and in 2022, she was seconded to Goldman Sachs where she worked within the litigation and regulatory group on a range of commercial disputes and regulatory matters.
