Maximilien Pallu practices French, European, and international environmental law. He assists French and international clients on industrial facilities, contaminated sites and soil, product regulations, and in particular regulations relating to chemical substances, as well as environmental, social, and governance (ESG) concerns.
Maximilien regularly advises on matters relating to classified facilities for environmental protection (ICPE), environmental audits, and waste and contaminated sites and soil management. His practice includes litigation before civil and criminal courts in connection with environmental matters, and he also has experience with environmental issues arising in connection with mergers and acquisitions.
Maximilien has developed specific in-depth experience in the field of chemicals, particularly with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) regulations, as well as pesticides and biocides. In these areas, he has handled litigation before the Court of Justice of the European Union, as well as before the Board of Appeal of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Prior to joining Jones Day in 2026, Maximilien practiced environmental law at international law firms in Paris and Brussels.
