James Patterson advises public and private companies on corporate law matters and strategic transactions. He has represented clients in cross-border and domestic mergers, acquisitions, and spin-offs. He works with clients in a wide range of industries, including consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and technology.
James has advised clients on a variety of transactions, including Evoqua's $7.5 billion sale to Xylem, Huntington Ingalls' $1.7 billion purchase of Alion Science & Technology, and Bally's $3 billion acquisition of Gamesys.
Prior to joining Jones Day, James served on active duty as a helicopter pilot in the United States Navy, where he was deployed to locations worldwide. He currently serves in the Navy Reserve and continues to fly the MH-60R helicopter at a squadron in Jacksonville, Florida.
