Héctor Ocampo has 20 years of experience handling trials involving collection, bankruptcies (concurso mercantil y quiebra), regularization of real estate, compliance and termination of contracts, as well as drafting and analyzing contracts and agreements.
Currently, Héctor advises a clean energy power generating company in various agrarian and amparo lawsuits concerning the operation of its wind power plants in Mexico and companies in the Elementia Group, supervising civil court trials in which those companies are involved, issuing opinions.
He collaborates on issues involving the compliance of Afianzadora Sofimex, S.A. de C.V., with the Law on Insurance and Surety Institutions, including the operation of the corporate governance system of the company.
Héctor has successfully defended a major mining company in a civil liability trial for environmental damages to private property. He intervened in legal audits executed by Jones Day to various credit institutions and their brokerage houses, reviewing the legal defense of their interests issued by external offices in collection proceedings and reviewed various credit agreements. He also participated in the Orion Project for the Procter & Gamble Company, obtaining government regulation permits for two of its industrial facilities in Mexico.
He also performs pro bono work in family law issues, processing various lawsuits.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Héctor worked for 12 years in the Public Defender's Office of Mexico City, as deputy director of legal assistance for civil, family, and real estate lease issues.
