Laura Mahoney focuses her practice on complex labor and employment issues, including claims arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act (IWPCA), California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and Title VII.
In addition to her litigation practice, Laura has substantial experience in conducting internal investigations for clients to address employee allegations of discrimination and sexual harassment. Further, she helps companies navigate internal investigations in response to government inquiries, including investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
Laura also counsels employers on their policies and practices related to antidiscrimination, wage and hour compliance, and leave entitlements.
Laura maintains an active pro bono practice, advising local nonprofit organizations on employment-related issues and representing individuals seeking asylum in the United States.
