Lauren Hargrave is an experienced litigator whose practice includes commercial disputes, class actions, and contentious regulatory and government matters.
Lauren has advised and assisted private and public clients in a broad range of matters in Australian federal and state courts and tribunals as well as commissions of inquiry. Her recent experience includes post-transaction disputes, high-profile class actions, and insurance coverage disputes. Lauren acts for corporations across a variety of industry sectors, including financial services, consumer goods, and property and development.
Lauren also has extensive solicitor advocacy experience in tribunals and courts. Prior to joining Jones Day in 2025, Lauren advised various government departments in administrative law and in disputes throughout Australia, which included assisting in royal commissions and inquests. Lauren was also part of a precedent-setting team that acted pro bono in a dispute regarding issues of diplomatic immunity.
In 2022, the Women Lawyers Association of the ACT (Australian Capital Territory) recognized Lauren as a finalist in the category of "Woman Lawyer of the Year – Early Career."
