Christopher Hawley represents private equity funds and their portfolio companies, other privately held businesses, as well as publicly traded companies in complex corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, carve-outs, strategic investments, minority investments, equity financings, and corporate restructurings. He also regularly counsels clients on corporate governance, general corporate and commercial matters, and day-to-day transactional issues. Christopher has experience across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, industrials, technology, consumer products and services, food and restaurant, and fire and life safety.
Christopher's recent representative experience includes advising Kroger in its agreement to acquire Giant Eagle for $1.65 billion; SAP in its acquisition of Reltio, a leading master data management (MDM) software provider; Norwest Equity Partners in the sale of Thibaut, a premier designer and distributor of luxury wallcoverings, fabrics, rugs, and furniture; and Corpay in connection with a $300 million minority investment by Mastercard in Corpay's cross-border business. Public company and private equity clients Christopher has recently represented include Kroger, SAP, The Timken Company, Corpay, Dealer Tire, American Pacific Group, MPE Partners, Norwest Equity Partners, Sky Island Capital, and The Riverside Company.
In 2026, Chris was recognized in Best Lawyers as Ones to Watch in America for leveraged buyouts and private equity law.
