Claire M.Goulding

Claire Goulding is a commercial litigator with experience representing global and domestic clients in high-value and complex disputes in a range of jurisdictions, including the Federal Court of Australia and state supreme courts. She also has experience in alternative dispute resolution processes. Her practice is focused on large-scale commercial disputes across a range of sectors, including construction and infrastructure, energy and resources, and technology.

Claire's recent experience has centered on a number of large contractual and construction disputes, including acting for Fluor Corporation in ongoing proceedings brought by Santos Ltd in the Supreme Court of Queensland and acting for directors of a major mining company in defense of proceedings in relation to alleged breaches of directors' duties and oppression. She has experience in contractual disputes (including statutory adjudications) involving mining and infrastructure projects across Australia.

Claire has also worked on high-stakes commercial disputes, including acting for a global technology company in an action against a third-party service provider, advising a foreign multinational on its exit from a significant joint venture in Australia, and acting for a major contractor in a dispute concerning payments for construction work that were the subject of a cyber fraud and payment diversion by a third party.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Claire volunteered at the Australian Centre for Disability Law.
