Yvonne W. Chan

Yvonne Chan represents a wide variety of clients, including financial institutions and technology and life sciences companies, in complex commercial litigation matters.

Yvonne has reached successful outcomes for clients in jury and bench trials and in arbitrations. She recently represented a cryptocurrency issuer in obtaining a favorable arbitration award in a significant customer dispute and handled a construction arbitration involving a dispute between an owner and a contractor.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2022, Yvonne handled a month-long jury trial that resulted in an acquittal for the former president of a pharmaceutical company in a federal criminal anti-kickback case. In addition, she has obtained a favorable verdict in a bench trial in bankruptcy court for a national bank; an arbitration award in favor of independent trustees in a contract dispute; and an arbitration award in favor of an educational institution in a dispute over licensing agreements.

Yvonne has previously served on the Boston Bar Association (BBA) Council and Executive Committee and co-chaired the BBA's Women of Color Attorneys Leadership Forum.

Yvonne has been active in pro bono matters, including Jones Day's Start Anew Project for survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence, and an asylum victory for an individual facing persecution for her political beliefs.

Yvonne is co-chair of Jones Day's Asian Lawyers Affinity Group.
