Madeleine Behne's practice focuses on all aspects of general commercial litigation and dispute resolution. She has experience in a wide range of matters, particularly in financial services litigation, shareholder disputes, and external and voluntary administrations.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2025, Madeleine worked for more than three years as a member of the insolvency and disputes team at an international law firm. During this time, she regularly acted for Australia's major lenders and insolvency practitioners in a variety of litigious matters. She also served a three-month secondment at the Bank of Queensland, where she worked with the bank's dispute resolution and regulatory investigations team.
In 2021, she was the Associate to the Hon. Justice Martin Daubney AM KC of the Supreme Court of Queensland and president of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
In her spare time, Madeleine volunteers at a local community legal center, where she provides pro bono legal guidance at the center's civil law evening advice sessions.
