Alex Butler focuses his practice on counseling investment advisers on the structuring, formation, and operation of private investment funds and the related legal, regulatory, and governance matters that arise in developing and operating asset management platforms. His experience spans a broad range of private fund structures, including open-end, closed-end, hybrid, fund-of-funds, single-investor funds, and separately managed accounts, investing in a broad range of asset classes.
Alex advises investment advisers on all aspects of private fund formation and structuring, including the preparation and negotiation of private offering memoranda, limited partnership agreements, and side letters. He also represents institutional investors in connection with primary and secondary investments, co-investments, and separately managed accounts.
