As an associate, I worked with certain partners that allowed me to argue before the Supreme Court. It could have been easy for another partner to say I've never done that, so I want to do it. But they invested in me and gave me the opportunity.

I could try to wear jeans every day, but it wouldn't be authentic or true to who I am. As a third year associate, I had the opportunity to work on a trial. I was writing pocket briefs and bench memos. I took on a variety of tasks that were really important to the outcome of the case. Each person on the team had a very important role in the outcome for the client. I felt really important as part of the team. What better opportunity than a trial to feel like a litigator?
