Rick Brodsky is a trial lawyer with broad trial, motion, and discovery experience who helps clients navigate high-stakes litigation, enforcement actions, and investigations. He has represented clients across a range of industries in matters before state and federal courts involving alleged violations of the Controlled Substances Act and environmental laws, allegations of public nuisance, product liability claims, and complex business disputes.

Rick's recent experience includes defending a national retailer in lawsuits brought in jurisdictions across the country alleging that the distribution and sale of prescription opioids constitutes a public nuisance and a violation of various state and federal laws, including multiple cases brought by state attorneys general.

Before Jones Day, Rick practiced at a large mid-Atlantic law firm. During this time, Rick defended a Fortune 500 company against an enforcement action brought by the U.S. Department of Justice relating to a hazardous waste site in Rhode Island. Rick defended the company at two trials before the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island, including one that ended in a rare decision invalidating an EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) cleanup order as arbitrary and capricious. Rick also clerked for the Honorable Douglas R.M. Nazarian of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.

Rick is actively involved at the Zekelman Holocaust Center in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
