Kipling Milton practices in the area of tax dispute resolution, assisting companies and individuals subject to review by the Australian Tax Office (ATO). He has experience in transfer pricing and other international tax issues, general anti-avoidance rules, and fair administration. Kipling also has experience in tax litigation, including preparing legal and technical submissions, instructing counsel, and advising on litigation risk.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Kipling worked on the litigation team at Inland Revenue, New Zealand's tax department, where he provided legal advice to the department and acted on behalf of the Commissioner in matters ranging from the validity of tax assessments to defending judicial review applications. During this time he appeared in the High Court of New Zealand and dedicated Taxation Review Authority and assisted the Crown Solicitors and Queen's Counsel in preparing cases for the Court of Appeal of New Zealand.
