Shiwei Liu is a biologist with a research background in cell biology, genomics, microscopy-based biotechnologies, and gene therapy.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2025, Shiwei conducted post-doctoral research in spatial genomics at Harvard University and completed his Ph.D. at Harvard Medical School/Harvard University, where his work examined the relationship between cancer cell division and genome instability. He also gained industry experience as a scientist at Qilu Pharmaceuticals, where he developed gene therapies for human diseases. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications in the fields of cancer, cell biology, and genomics.
