Jennifer Everett is a trusted adviser to clients on a wide range of challenging data privacy and cybersecurity issues. Her practice focuses on regulatory compliance, enforcement, and transactions in data privacy, cybersecurity, health care, and emerging technologies.

Jennifer has particular experience providing strategic advice on navigating state, federal, and global privacy laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), state privacy and biometric laws, children's privacy and workplace privacy, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act, and other U.S. consumer privacy statutes.

Well versed in health privacy law, Jennifer advises clients on range of complex health data issues under HIPAA and other laws. She regularly helps clients develop privacy programs and manage risk in connection with cutting-edge technologies in digital health and AI-driven platforms.

Jennifer regularly helps clients manage large, complex security incidents. Jennifer handles all aspects of U.S. and international data breach investigation and response, including advising on forensic investigations, notification, and related regulatory investigations. She frequently conducts trainings for senior leadership and corporate boards in mitigating privacy and cyber risks.

Jennifer successfully defends clients in privacy-related federal and state investigations including by the FTC, Office of Human Rights, states attorneys general offices, and other international authorities.

Jennifer is a member of the Firmwide Diversity, Inclusion and Advancement Committee and the Washington Office's Recruiting Committee. She also co-chairs the office's Diversity Committee.

Jennifer is a frequent speaker on strategic compliance with data privacy laws. She serves on the board of directors for the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless.
