Alexandre Verheyden est un praticien du droit de la concurrence, représentant à ce titre des entreprises, associations d'entreprises ou des gouvernements devant la Commission européenne, la cour de justice de l'Union européenne et le Tribunal, les autorités de concurrence nationales et les juridictions nationales. Il jouit également d'une expérience particulière en matière de concentrations et d'ententes transatlantiques.

Alexandre Verheyden a été impliqué dans des dossiers couvrant tous les aspects du droit de la concurrence, en ce compris les dossiers d'abus de position dominante, d'ententes, de concentrations et d'aides d'Etat. Il a récemment représenté Denka dans son rachat de la branche d'activité de Dupont pour le caoutchouc synthétique (autorisée en Phase I nonobstant un marché concentré) et COMREG dans les dossiers de concentration du secteur des communications mobiles en Irlande et Allemagne. Il a également représenté DoubleClick dans son rachat par Google et BT dans une série de dossiers de consolidation intervenus depuis 1995 (en ce compris MCI, AT&T, Infonet et Radianz). Il a également piloté une action en dommages et intérêts contre Belgacom fondée sur une violation du droit de la concurrence ayant donné lieu à un accord transactionnel total d'un montant exceptionnel pour la Belgique de 120 millions d'euros.

En outre, il dispose d'une expérience marquée en matière de cartels, étant actuellement impliqué dans le cartel des composants automobiles au profit de différents clients. Il a également représenté Dole dans le cartel des bananes devant la Commission européenne. Alexandre Verheyden dispose également une bonne expérience en matière d'aides d'Etat représentant tant des entreprises que des gouvernements dans ce domaine.

Alexandre Verheyden est en charge, au sein du Cabinet, de la coordination de la pratique concurrence au niveau européen. Il a été le co-président de la section Communications de l'International Bar Association et est titulaire de diverses distinctions, telles qu'une bourse d'études de la Belgian American Educational Foundation. Il a également reçu la 2012 Antitrust Writing Award pour son article "EU Court of Justice Provides Guidance on Abusive Margin Squeezes". Il est l'auteur de diverses publications dans le domaine du droit de la concurrence et est régulièrement invité comme orateur dans des conférences relatives au droit de la concurrence.
