James Twieg practices at the intersection of law and technology. James is an intellectual property lawyer with experience advising on patent litigation, artificial intelligence, copyright law, and intellectual property concerns in business transactions. His litigation experience has focused on fact development, invalidity and noninfringement arguments, and discovery disputes in fields ranging from integrated circuits and cloud software to pharmaceuticals.

In addition to his intellectual property practice, James maintains an active pro bono practice representing asylum seekers through the Firm's Border Project and Chicago-area renters in partnership with the Law Center for Better Housing.

Prior to attending law school, James worked for more than 20 years in information technology as a software developer, business analyst, and department head for a Telephone & Data Systems (TDS) company based in Waunakee, Wisconsin.
