Jeff Messing represents domestic and international companies on a variety of intellectual property matters, with a primary focus on patent litigation before the International Trade Commission (ITC), U.S. district courts across the country, and post-grant proceedings at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Jeff's litigation experience spans a variety of technologies across multiple industries such as telecommunications, semiconductors, electronic circuits, medical devices, child care, LED lighting devices, and pharmaceuticals.
Jeff has extensive experience in all phases of litigation, from pretrial investigations through appeal. Jeff has managed discovery practice in district court trials and in several ITC investigations and acted as a key trial team member in several ITC evidentiary hearings. Jeff has extensive experience in coordinating discovery, taking fact and expert depositions, preparing motions, and preparing pre- and post-trial briefing. He has worked with numerous fact and expert witnesses through discovery and trial/final hearing in matters before the ITC, U.S. district courts, and the USPTO.
Jeff maintains an active pro bono practice and represents tenants facing eviction. He also has experience in applications, manufacturing, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) engineering gained from working during his undergraduate education.
