Dr. Shiwei Liu is a biomedical scientist and registered patent agent focusing on global patent prosecution in the life sciences sector. His practice includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as assisting with patentability assessments and freedom-to-operate analyses, particularly in the areas of antibody-based therapeutics, vaccines, CAR-T and CAR-NK cell technologies, and peptide conjugates.

Shiwei completed his Ph.D. at Harvard Medical School/Harvard University, where his work uncovered a mechanistic link between cancer cell division and genome instability. He then conducted post-doctoral research at Harvard University, where he used genome-scale DNA and RNA microscopy-based imaging to investigate 3D-genome organization in transcriptionally distinct cell types in the brain. He also previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry on gene therapies for human diseases.

Shiwei has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications in journals, including Nature, Science Advances, and Developmental Cell. His work has been cited by more than 2,000 peer-reviewed articles.
