Ellen Geyer leverages her background in economics to advise clients in public and private corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity deals, cross-border agreements, and other strategic business decisions.
Ellen has consulted on a variety of multimillion dollar transactions for the Riverside Company and Morgan Stanley. She also has helped clients assess the antitrust risks associated with their transactions, reviewing multinational mergers and acquisitions, and defending deals before the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice.
Beyond her legal work, Ellen has extensive experience in sports journalism, which she used to analyze the collective bargaining agreements of professional sports leagues across the United States. Her work comparing the penal structures of these agreements, "A League of His Own: Harmonizing Disparate Penal Outcomes in the NFL, NBA, and MLB Collective Bargaining Agreements," was published in the Berkeley Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law in the Spring of 2024.
Ellen maintains an active pro bono practice, providing legal services to individuals seeking asylum in the United States and working with the Firm's Human Trafficking Survivors clinic. She also volunteers as a mentor for undergraduate students in the economics department at her alma mater, the University of Notre Dame.
