Dr. Zhaoxia Chen has more than 16 years of experience advising clients on M&A and other corporate transactions, with a special focus on cross-border transactions. She has extensive experience advising clients investing in China as well as Chinese companies entering into the European market. In addition, she has in-depth experience in the hospitality, machinery, and automotive industries.

Zhaoxia recently advised ReLive Biotechnologies with the acquisition of the business operations of co.don Aktiengesellschaft, a German manufacturer of personalized cell therapies for the treatment of cartilage defects listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. She also advised Pandox Group on various hotel transactions (including its acquisitions of 10 hotels in Germany from HR Group for €393 million, two hotels in Germany and the Netherlands from Grape Hospitality for €83 million, and 18 hotels from the Leonardo Group in Germany for €400 million) and Goldman Sachs on its acquisition of K + K Hotels and the subsequent disposal of these hotels. She advised Dallah Al-Baraka Group on the sale of its minority stake in World Sport Group to the Chinese company LeTV; a Chinese-listed automotive supplier on its bid for a business unit of a German automotive supplier and its formation of a global joint venture with a German automotive supplier; a Chinese state-owned postal company on its formation of a joint venture with several German partners; and a leading Chinese construction company on its bid for the water construction business of a leading European construction group.

Zhaoxia is a former scholar of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation. She publishes and lectures frequently on European and Chinese law regarding foreign investment.
