José Manuel Carrillo has more than 15 years of experience representing Mexican and international corporations in a wide range of banking and finance transactions. His practice also encompasses corporate and transactional law, with substantial experience in mergers and acquisitions and cross-border transactions.
José Manuel has advised domestic and international clients across a variety of industries, including real estate, construction, banking, insurance and financial services, textiles, and food, as well as manufacturers in the automotive, railroad, and technology sectors.
José Manuel's recent representations include advising: Payward in the US$600 million acquisition of Reap Technologies, a leading payments infrastructure company enabling global money movement; Center Rock Capital Partners in the acquisition of Stoneridge Control Devices, a division of Stoneridge, Inc. (NYSE: SRI); and Embraer, a global aircraft manufacturer, in the acquisition of Safran Cabin's 50% share in EZAir, a joint venture that manufactures Embraer's interiors in Chihuahua, Mexico. He also advised BMT International, a Belgian family-owned industrial company specializing in high-precision machining, in connection with senior facilities arranged by a consortium comprised of KBC Bank, Belfius Bank, and ING Belgium. Additionally, José Manuel is advising Parker-Hannifin Corporation in the US$9.25 billion acquisition of Filtration Group Corporation from Madison Industries. He also advised Vector Casa de Bolsa on the substitution of trustees following orders issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) and assisted in the review of Vector Casa de Bolsa's trustee business involving more than 400 trust agreements to ensure compliance with anti–money laundering regulations in Mexico.
