Calvert Nursery School resolves dispute over auction item

Jones Day Washington associates Michael Welch and Christopher Thatch successfully represented Calvert Nursery School ("Calvert"), located in Calvert County, Maryland, in a dispute over an item purchased at an auction held by Calvert in October 2006. The purchaser bought a $2,100 sailing trip at the auction but subsequently decided she could not use the trip. After several attempts by Calvert to make alternative arrangements, the purchaser canceled payment on the trip without Calvert's consent. Jones Day notified the purchaser of her contract breach and requested that she pay Calvert for the sailing trip. The purchaser acknowledged her breach and paid Calvert the entire $2,100.
