Aventis S.A. sells animal nutrition business to CVC Capital Partners

Jones Day advised Aventis S.A. in the sale of its animal nutrition business to CVC Capital Partners. Aventis Animal Nutrition, one of the world's pioneers in animal nutrition, had total sales in 2001 of Euro 572 million and operations in 15 countries. CVC Capital Partners is a leading independent equity provider in Europe. In addition to M&A representation, Jones Day provided antitrust advice regarding this transaction, which was complicated by the business' alleged involvement in the vitamins cartel and the many regulatory investigations and private antitrust proceedings past, current, and pending relating to those issues.
