Bayer HealthCare obtains FTC clearance for acquisition of Teva Animal Health

A Jones Day antitrust team secured clearance from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on behalf of Bayer HealthCare LLC in its acquisition of Teva Animal Health (TAH) for $60 million plus milestone payments (up to $85 million). The portfolio of Bayer HealthCare's Animal Health division (BAH) includes branded pharmaceuticals for companion animals and livestock. TAH, a division of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., sells generic animal health products in the United States.

The transaction provides new channels for BAH's products and adds new products BAH's portfolio. The transaction received FTC clearance on December 31, 2012 and closed on January 3, 2013.
