Room to Read receives assistance at a global level

Client(s) Room to Read

Jones Day represents Room to Read, a nonprofit organization that focuses on literacy and gender equality in education for girls. Room to Read builds schools and libraries and provides scholarships for girls to attend schools in 9 developing countries in Africa and Asia. This representation began with employment, corporate and real estate issues in Jones Day's San Francisco and New York offices. As the relationship developed, Jones Day and Room to Read identified ways that Jones Day could assist Room to Read on a more global level. Currently Jones Day is utilizing its global presence in representing Room to Read on IP issues in countries around the world. In addition, the Jones Day Foundation funds numerous impressive projects each year and recently contributed $100,000 to Room to Read to build twenty-two libraries in India and publish thousands of copies of local language children's books. In December, 2010, Jones Day hosted a luncheon where Craig Herb, Room to Read DC Chapter Manager, along with supporters Cokie and Steve Roberts, and Erin Ganju, co-founder and CEO of Room to Read, spoke.
